Teaching
“Teaching is one of the most fascinating and valuable experiences in a musician’s life. It shows us how much we can learn from children, and it is a huge satisfaction, as well as a great responsibility. Seeing children progress and develop their skills is a great pleasure for me.”
Julia is full of energy, and her patience and sense of responsibility inform her teaching of young people.
Before coming to London she taught talented children in Poland, tutoring them in a variety of musical activities: playing the piano, music theory, aural skills, and music history. Teaching beginners as well as advanced players has given Julia a broad experience in teaching students at different stages of their musical education. She has prepared children to audition at music schools as well as helping well-established young players to practice, giving them the right approach to the instrument. She has taught students who were playing for pleasure, as well as those who were to become professionals. As a versatile musician, Julia has had the opportunity to work with pupils who suffer from ADHD and sensory deprivation. This was a memorable, challenging and satisfying experience.
Since 2015, she has been teaching in the London Rachmaninov Music Academy, where she runs solfeggio classes and also helps to train the choir.
Julia’s piano lessons are intensive and fun:
“I like combining serious and professional work with laughter. I challenge my pupils so they have constant development – but at the same time I take a lot of care in keeping my lessons in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.”
She is careful to maintain the students’ attention and zeal for learning, motivating them to practice, inspiring them to improve their skills and solve technical problems. She always emphasises her love of music:
“The most important thing is to love what you do and to know how to transmit that love into sounds!”
